- The Rid, R' Yeshaya HaRishon or HaZaken DiTrani, was the grandfather of R' Yeshaya HaAcharon, the Riaz. He is the R' Yeshaya often quoted by the Rosh, Tur, Shibbolei HaLeket, etc. for his Tosafot and Piskei Halacha.[1]
