Regarding skipping for kedusha, I heard from Rav Schachter (oral communication Tevet 2 5778) that Rav Ovadia is correct and he shouldn’t skip Al Hanissim to reach Kedusha since that is the text of the Shemona Esrei according to the establishment of chazal. He just thought for Rosh Hashana Mussaf to catch Shofar blows together with listening to Chazarat Hashatz it is permitted to skip the piyutim since they aren’t the establishment of chazal.
