- One must wear a belt during Davening and someone say that this is only true by someone who usually wears a belt, but for someone who doesn’t usually wear a belt it’s only a pious practice to wear one. [1]
- If one’s pants are tight the pants serve as a belt, but there’s still a practice of piety to wear a belt. [2]
- Being dressed properly depends on the standards of the time and place how people would walk in the streets and in front of important people. If it’s accepted to wear short sleeve shirts or sandals without socks, one doesn’t usually change for Davening, for its proper respect to Hashem to wear respectable clothing. [3]
- One who usually works in short pants (shorts) should not daven in such a way but it’s not forbidden. [4]
- One who usually wears a hat and jacket and doesn’t have it should not daven without it unless one will miss Davening with a minyan. (Also putting a jacket over one’s shoulders isn’t considered wearing it.) However, one who usually doesn’t wear one doesn’t have to but it’s still a proper practice. [5]
- One should not daven in a robe or a bathing suit. [6]
If one needs to go to the bathroom
- If one needs to go to the bathroom, even if one can hold it in for 72 minutes it's preferable not to pray at that time unless one will miss praying before the latest time for Shemona Esreh. [7]
