Talk:Klalei HaTalmud
From Halachipedia
This page, and probably many other pages as well, write Hebrew words begging with “Ha-” in PascalCase, as “HaGemara”, “HaTalmud”, etc, which is wrong, because
- PascalCase is a computer programming convention which is used to represent multiple words when spaces aren’t allowed - Even where spaces aren’t allowed, “HaGemara” would imply that “Ha” and “Gemara” are separate words, rather than a word with a prefix - Even if that weren’t so, it’s also grammatically incorrect in nearly all cases, because the דגש חזק would cause the gemination of the next consonant. Thus, “HaGemara” is misleading, because it indicates that “Ha-“ is a separate syllable.
“Haggemara” would be better. “Hagemara” and “Ha’gemara” are fine, too.
